Kirkwood Students Sweep Top Four Spots in Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics Math & Art Contest Through Districtwide Collaboration

A true celebration of creativity, collaboration, and math across Kirkwood Schools!

Through the KHS Math Club’s Elementary Math Alliance, high school student leaders partnered this year with 5th graders at Keysor, North Glendale, and Robinson Elementary. In classroom visits, students explored tessellations through hands-on learning, games, and creative design, showing how math can be both meaningful and fun.

After refining their artwork, student projects were submitted to the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics Math & Art Contest—and Kirkwood students earned an incredible sweep of the top four spots:

🥇 1st Place: Aura Brown (Keysor)
🥈 2nd Place: Melanie Hughes (Keysor)
🥉 3rd Place: Harper Pleban (North Glendale)
🏅 4th Place: Atticus Bryan (Keysor)

This achievement reflects the strength of collaboration between KHS students and elementary learners across our district—and the powerful ways students inspire one another through shared learning experiences.
