The Glendale-Kirkwood Kiwanis Club recently continued its longstanding Early Reader Program by gifting a book to every kindergarten student in the Kirkwood School District (KSD).

What began in spring 2006 with books for 275 kindergarteners has grown into a beloved annual tradition. This year, Kiwanis members provided early reader books to all 341 KSD kindergarten students, helping inspire a lifelong love of reading as students prepare for first grade.

Teachers across the district selected the books from a curated list of age-appropriate titles created by Kiwanis Club member Lynn Bosso with support from the Kirkwood Public Library. Bosso and fellow Kiwanis members delivered books to students at Keysor Elementary on May 11, with deliveries to Tillman, Robinson, North Glendale, and Westchester elementary schools taking place throughout the week.
